Devlog 0: The Concept


After making my first game, "Hope in the Rain", for the short gamejam (10 days), I want to start working on a harder and longer project that will teach me more stuff that I hadn't learned from "Hope in the Rain." In "Hope in the Rain," I was able to learn many things, like GDScript, all the different nodes, tile mapping, signals, collisions, pixel art,  etc. In this game, I want to learn about making a dialogue system, an inventory system, and procedural generation. Combining all of these from what I know and what I am soon to learn, I hope to make this fun game. It will have no story, but rather basic NPCs that tell history and fun facts about Japan, as this is gonna be an educational game for me for Japanese history, culture, and language, as well as the creating aspect of the game. My goal is to finish the game in about 2-3 months. The first month will be lots of work as I am still in summer before school starts, so hopefully I have learned all I need by the end of that month. The next 1-2 months will be focused on making the actual game. So, I hope you wish me luck on this game, especially if you enjoy pirates or ninjas!


P.S. Naruto is my favorite anime, and I am watching One Piece (at episode 825 right now), so these 2 aspects are what are motivating me to make this game! :)
